FAQ
Questions

Before you book

What cuisines do you serve?

One kitchen covering Indian, Chinese and Continental alongside Kumaoni staples. Buffet and à la carte service through the day, with the restaurant opening onto the green.

Can you cater for Jain, vegan or allergy-specific diets?

Yes, and properly rather than improvised. Tell us when you book so the kitchen can order for it. Jain food is cooked without onion, garlic or root vegetables in a separate preparation.

Do you pack breakfast for early safaris?

Yes, and without being asked twice. A breakfast box and flask are ready at reception before you leave, and the kitchen stays open for a proper late breakfast when you return.

Can we have a private dinner outdoors?

Yes. Tables can be set in the gardens or by the pool, and for Saalora Suites we will set one outside your own door. A day's notice is enough for most setups.

What is Kumaoni food, and should I try it?

It is the local hill cuisine: bhatt ki churkani from black soybean, aloo ke gutke with dry red chilli, bhang ki chutney, madua roti from finger millet, and bal mithai for dessert. Yes, you should. Our kitchen team grew up eating it.

Every season. A new story.
