Saal is the sal tree, the tall, straight, unhurried giant that defines this forest belt of Uttarakhand. Ora is aura, the feeling our guests try to put into words at check-out, and rarely manage to.

Where exactly is Saalora Corbett Resort?
Village Sawal Deh West, Dhela Road, Ramnagar, Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand 244715. Nine acres of landscaped green sharing a boundary with the Dhela Wildlife Zone of the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve. The Dhela safari gate is about ten minutes away and Ramnagar railway station is 12 km.
How many rooms are there, and what types?
Forty-eight rooms across five categories: Saalora Family Suites at 726 sq ft, Saalora Suites at 416 sq ft, Luxe Rooms at 384 sq ft, Wilderness Rooms at 288 to 291 sq ft and Deluxe Rooms at 290 sq ft. Every category includes air-conditioning, a television, tea and coffee making, running hot water and daily housekeeping.
How far is it from Delhi, and how do I get there?
About 250 km by road, or five to six hours via Hapur, Moradabad, Kashipur and Ramnagar. By train, Ramnagar station is 12 km away and we can send a car. The nearest airport is Pantnagar, though most guests fly into Delhi and drive.
Which safari zone is closest, and can you book the permit?
Dhela is closest at about ten minutes, then Jhirna at twenty and Bijrani at forty. Permits are issued online by the Uttarakhand forest department and sell out early in season, so share the full name, age, ID type and ID number for every guest 30 to 45 days ahead. Our desk then arranges the permit, the jeep, the naturalist and a breakfast box.
What is the best time of year to visit?
November to February is cool and excellent for birding. March to mid-June brings the highest tiger sighting odds as animals move to water, though afternoons get hot. July to September is green, quiet and better value, with Dhela and Jhirna open while the core zones close for breeding season.
Do you host weddings, and what is the capacity?
Yes. Two open lawns, a banquet hall of 27 by 58 feet with an 11 foot ceiling, and forty-eight rooms let you take the property as a full buy-out. The hall seats 150 theatre-style, 80 to 120 as a floating crowd, 80 cluster, 65 classroom and 40 U-shaped. Residential capacity is roughly 120 to 140 guests.
