Roughly 250 km, five to six hours, and almost all the variance sits in the first ninety minutes.
The route
Delhi to Hapur, then Moradabad, Kashipur and Ramnagar, joining Dhela Road on the final approach. Most navigation apps send you this way and they are right to.
The part that decides everything
Getting out of Delhi and through the Ghaziabad and Hapur stretch is the slow part. Leave at six and it is straightforward. Leave at nine and you can lose well over an hour before you have really started. Guests who arrive relaxed almost always left before seven.
Where to stop
Moradabad and Kashipur both have reliable places to break the journey. One stop around the halfway mark is the usual pattern. After Kashipur the road quietens and the last hour is genuinely pleasant, with the foothills building on the horizon.
The last two kilometres
Dhela Road narrows on the final approach and the surface is patchy in places. Any car manages it, including a small hatchback, but take it slowly. After dark this matters more, because animals cross here and there is no lighting. Call reception when you leave Ramnagar town and we will have someone watching for you.
By train instead
Ramnagar station is 12 km away, about twenty-five minutes. The overnight services mean you arrive in the morning rather than spending a day driving. Send your train number and we will have a car waiting. For anyone travelling with young children or elderly parents, this is the better choice and more people should take it.
By air
Pantnagar is nearest at around 80 km but connections are limited. Most guests fly to Delhi and drive, which is often faster door to door once you account for the wait.
Practical notes
- Leave before 7 AM if driving. It is the single biggest variable.
- Fuel at Kashipur; options thin out afterwards.
- Signal gets patchy near the boundary, so download the map offline.
- Free parking on site, with coach space for groups.
